Is it ok for my son to fly or drink a few months after his TBI?

My sons motorcycle accident was august 2020. A lot of problems and health issues. Everything I read says they don’t recommend and being a nurse it makes sense however a dr said he can fly and he can drink which goes against all I have read. Prayers for everyone!

My husband’s primary doctor and neuropsychiatrist at Craig said absolutely no alcohol, period. Sounds like you might need to find a doctor with more experience in treating TBI.

Flying was OK for me, the airport was sensory overload with so much movement. I had to ride a wheelchair and keep my eyes closed even with the Meclizine to keep everything from spinning. I was so embarrassed because I had so underestimated my recovery- but I was comparing apples to oranges (life at home vs navigating an airport).
